OBAMA’S MAGICAL PRESCRIPTION SLIPS

In the past three and a half years, there is nothing President Obama has accomplished that has instilled in me a sense of trust, about his domestic or foreign policies. This may seem impossible to believe for some people…but it is true. I justify my feelings not by those who do not agree with the president’s decisions. Instead, I base my feelings on his promises to the American People that remain unfulfilled.
Remember, it was President Obama in 2009, who made a big deal about the need for transparency in Washington:
“My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented
level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure
the public trust and establish a system of transparency,
public participation, and collaboration. Openness will
strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and
effectiveness in Government…” –Barack Obama
Yet the latest executive order issued by the president prevents Congress from getting access to what could be the most incriminating Fast & Furious documents in existence. Now if that doesn’t make everybody suspicious of the current administration’s involvement in all this, I don’t know what does. Alas, the very transparency President Obama PROMISED US is unattainable by his own decree.
So, there is no doubt when it comes to Fast & Furious, the president has failed to create an unprecedented level of openness in Washington. This, I predict, will have a negative impact on his run for the White House in November because it speaks to his character. Can we trust him? If he knows the truth, will he share it with us?
Do understand, no matter how much the Obama Administration tries to put the blame of a botched gun-walking mission on the previous administration, the murder of U.S. border agent Brian Terry happened on President Obama’s watch and under the direction of the DOJ…headed by someone President Obama appointed.
But what is so unfathomable, is the way in which Brian Terry’s parents has been left in the dark about what happened. They still don’t know who made the call in Washington that led to the death of their beloved son. Especially when Brian Terry put his life on the line for the people of this country to keep us safe within our nation’s borders. He was a man, who made a commitment to do a dangerous job when ordered to do so and nobody has a clue in all of Washington about what went down. But they know enough about the Bin Laden operation to share it with Hollywood, so a movie can be made to promote the president in an election year. And still, the family waits for answers from the Obama Administration, who can’t even apologize anymore because it means nothing.
The current administration cannot ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration when it comes down to Fast & Furious. If they could, the DOJ would have cooperated with Congress two years ago. They would have told Brian Terry’s family exactly how he died, and there wouldn’t be a desperate need for President Obama to write an Executive Order to do the very opposite of what he promised he would do in regards to transparency.
Believe me, the president writing a magical prescription slip to make all the evidence of the Fast & Furious debacle vanish, will not stop the TRUTH from surfacing. Then, and only then, will our nation see just how OPENNESS strengthens our democracy and promotes “efficiency and effectiveness in Government” much to the surprise of the President. If history has taught us anything, somebody is going to resign for this epic screw-up! Let’s start with Holder.
