ARE TELEVISION NETWORKS MOCKING GOD, RELIGION AND BELIEVERS FOR RATINGS?

LUKE 23:13-25
13 Then Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests, the rulers, and the people
14 said to them, “You have brought this Man to me, as one who misleads the people. And indeed, having examined Him in your presence, I have found no fault in this Man concerning those things of which you accuse Him
15 no, neither did Herod, for I sent you back to him; and indeed nothing deserving of death has been done by Him.
16 I will therefore chastise Him and release Him”
17 (for it was necessary for him to release one to them at the feast).
18 And they all cried out at once, saying, “Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas”
19 who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder.
20 Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them.
21 But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!”
22 Then he said to them the third time, “Why, what evil has He done? I have found no reason for death in Him. I will therefore chastise Him and let Him go.”
23 But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested.
25 And he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

Knowing Americans are still in a heated debate over the right to Religious Freedom, I have to say if President Obama is being called to task for the new HHS “contraception” mandate, than television networks should be called to task for a variety of things. But mainly, television networks should be held accountable for their role in attempting to devalue Jesus Christ and His teachings.
Of course, few people want to talk about how those who believe in God are mocked and ridiculed on music award shows, television specials, and even in commercials. So many impromptu but most times rehearsed moments to attack those who believe in God for ratings. Yes, RATINGS!!! Better known in Hollywood as MONEY!!! Because we all know if a television show gets good ratings that show will likely stay on the air. But without viewers, shows are cancelled. Few corporations want to purchase commercial time for a show that’s a flop or embroiled in controversy.
You know, I’m still trying to understand how so many Christians in this country have allowed networks to attempt to diss God. Americans, who profess to believe that Jesus died, so that we might live. But few are voicing their opinion about the way Christians are being portrayed on television. Not even Christian organizations. I mean come on, if the clergy can get fired up about the new HHS mandate that was forced on Americans (who were singled out by the federal government), then why isn’t the clergy upset about television shows that continue to devalue the importance of Religious Freedom as granted in the 1st Amendment.
This brings me to why I decided to write this commentary which is to share how upset I am about a particular television show that shall remain nameless, but will air very soon. This show is on my Boycott List of shows that I will not watch because in my opinion, it singles out Christian Women to mock, portray as immoral, unintelligent and the list goes on and on. I know I shouldn’t be shocked. Truth is I don’t expect much from liberal bias networks because they are being used as a tool to help further the Liberal Agenda. And what better way for them to do it, than to hide behind “creative license” when shoving a knife in the backs of millions of television viewers, some of which happen to be ahhhh…Christians? What a truly symbolic gesture of what THE LEFT is trying to accomplish—killing or eliminating religious freedom in your very own home.
If I am wrong, than ask yourself, when was the last time you saw a show on television that mocked Jewish women or Muslim women? Would liberal networks dare to put a show on television that depicts Jewish women or Muslim women as anything other than loving or kind? Would television networks show Jewish women or Muslim women being groped or pushed around by men. Oh, how about showing Jewish women or Muslim women in adulterous affairs, stealing, fake praying and mocking God in and outside of church? This is a comedy? This is supposed to be funny? It’s insulting…and a desperate move to retain or gain new viewership for money.
NEWSFLASH to the networks…WE CONTROL OUR TELEVISION. We can turn the channel at any time or turn the television off. Either way, no viewers equals no rating equals no money, so the show is cancelled. That’s the kind of power Americans have as consumers. For those Christians who buy into the mockery of God on television, well you might as well invite the Obama Administration into your home and forgive all their sins for turning America into a Brother-Can-You-Spare-A-Dime Nation.
Television Networks have gone too far, this time. They haven’t learned yet that God told us to turn the other cheek, but he never said be a doormat for the Networks. Christians, like other religious groups in the United States of America, deserve to be respected. So far, I’ve been silent about a lot of these crappy shows being aired on television and simply changing the channel. Only it’s not enough it seems when any show’s premise…its purpose is to throw Christians to the lions weekly for ratings. Let me tell you, those who want to mock my beliefs—how I pray, go to church or even the clothes I wear or the bible I carry—better get ready for another fight. Brothers and sisters in Christ, the war on Religious Freedom continues, only now, it’s in your house and on your television. Do something about it.
