A WAR ON JESUS CHRIST

A WAR ON JESUS CHRIST

My commentaries as many of you know are about politics. I champion the Right and try to show why the Left is wrong in their endeavor to push Liberalism and Social Justice. But in this case, I am letting you know well in advance this is an extremely bias commentary in which I admit upfront I love Jesus Christ. Love God! And if you don’t, I can guarantee you won’t like what I have to say at all. So you might as well stop reading here.

For those who are game, hold on because this is a bumpy ride.

Like most Americans, I am on Twitter and can be followed @PimpingtheUS which has been a wonderful way to reach out to others who have similar interests and a vision of what our country should be. If you are familiar with the social network, you know there are billions of messages that are tweeted, but one simple message caught my eye last night. The message was “Remember the Reason for the Season.” How many times have you heard that little ditty over the years? Funny how it sticks with you, huh? Well, I actually stopped what I was doing to think about what it truly meant. The fact that Christmas is a word because of Jesus Christ. Because of his birth and what it signifies to all who believe in God Almighty. It was an Ah-ha moment.

You see, there is no war on Christmas. There is a war on Jesus Christ. And no one can deny the war on Jesus Christ has amped up to such a degree that Christians everywhere are frankly fed up with the attacks by non-believers or atheists and we are pushing back with a vengeance. I even predict, those who are at odds with God and use Separation of Church and State like a personal vendetta to go after churches, schools, public parks and military bases, will be met with much resistance in the future. Mainly, because the motives of these party-poopers are not altruistic, but destructive in their quest to erase any traces or reminders of God.

Why the sudden surge in the quest for non-believers to make Christmas non-existent? Well, non-believers feel empowered at this time in our history because of a lack of respect for God Almighty from the Powers that Be in Washington. It is a shame, really. Considering many of the politicians in Washington (the White House and Congress) are quick to sit in the front pew of a church when they are running for re-election. Gotta get those votes, you know. But at any other time, those same politicians are instruments in the devaluation of religious freedom in this nation. These faith-on, faith-off hypocrites are exposed daily by the legislation they create that is a direct challenge to the First Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

These elected and appointed officials have in fact created legislation, specifically targeting Christian Bible Study, Prayer Gatherings and Nativity Scenes, while other religions are being celebrated and encouraged to share their beliefs.

I could name hundreds of incidents where federal, state and local legislation has been used as the means to remove God from the mix. The mission, it seems, is to make no reference to God, Christianity, Heaven or Hell at all…because you can offend someone. What a slap in the face. When God is how this country has remained above all the rest of the countries in this world. America didn’t become a super power because we were pretty. We didn’t become a super power because we kicked out England. We became a super power because from the beginning The People put their trust in God. We even went so far as to print that same phrase on our money to remind us…God is in charge. Not foreign countries who can say one thing and then pimp us so bad we find ourselves at their mercy for products like electronics, furniture, dishes and crude oil. But God doesn’t pimp his people. His word is the truth. He doesn’t lie.

One of the things that is so key in understanding why there is a push to rid our nation of God and all that He represents is realizing what non-believers want. So I have taken an excerpt from my book, Pimping the U.S., to help some people to get a better understanding of why Christians are dealing with so much open hostility and downright nastiness from folks who want to end Christmas as we know it. If you agree, tweet @PimpingtheUS on Twitter.

EXCERPT:

Over the years, I have been confronted with non-believers who have tried to convince me there is no God. Of course, I’m not fazed by this because I know there is a God.

What I find interesting though is when I tell a non-believer, I know there is a God, so we can agree to disagree, the non-believer can’t deal with it. It throws them for a loop every time because it’s not about you, the Christian, and your belief in God. It’s about the non-believer being unable to persuade you to accept what he or she believes.

When I say, I know there is a God, so we can agree to disagree— I fail to give non-believers what they are seeking. A total denunciation of my faith. Of course, they can’t understand why I won’t change my mind. Let me tell you, I have had some fascinating conversations with atheists. Atheists, who know more about the bible than some Christians I know who go to church every Sunday. I’m talking about non-believers, who can quote scripture like nobody’s business. But they’re quoting scripture to denounce God, for example by saying, “God couldn’t have created the heavens and the earth. What is this he rested on the seventh day? Oh, and how about the whole story where he—”

I can’t help but smile with a non-believer quoting scripture to me in order to change my mind. Usually my reply is, “Why are you reading the bible, if you don’t believe in God?”

Most of the time, I get this blank stare from the person quoting scripture. So what you learn in this type of situation is that even non-believers consider the bible as a source of reference. This means they recognize it. So they believe. But still they want to argue.

You know what? I have some advice for quite a few Christians out there in the world, who are having heated discussions with Atheists. Ahhhhhh, stop. Stop arguing with the one atheist in the room because you are the Christian at the Office Holiday Party. It’s a waste of your time and energy. I don’t do that stuff anymore. Non-believers will argue with you as long as you allow them to…sometimes for hours because they are trying to get you to understand they have the proof. They know for a fact and so on and so on.

But the truth is non-believers desperately want you to agree with them. I see the same thing with Liberals. Liberals want everybody to desperately believe in Liberalism. Spread the Wealth and be glad about it! Heck, I was told once by a diehard liberal, “Spreading the wealth is the Christian thing to do.” No. I don’t think so. The bible is not filled with examples of people who are waiting on the government to supply their every need. But there are quite a few parables where people have been told by God that He would supply their needs. Only it would require those same people to have a little faith.

Matthew 17:20

[Jesus replied] “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

There are other examples, where God ask people to be self-sufficient, and sometimes, He puts a person to the test. Helllllllllo, Job. But after Job weathered the storm, he was rewarded for his endurance. For his faith. Other times, God says, “I am going to give you something to take care of, but it requires you to be responsible on your part. Do this and you’ll be surprised how things will turn out to be in your favor.” Of course, I’m paraphrasing. You can always grab a bible and read it for yourself. But you won’t find the idea of liberalism. The Robin Hood steals from the rich and gives to the poor philosophy. Remember when Jesus Christ overturned the tables of the money-changers?

Oh, there are instances when God does have people share things. The people shared manna from heaven. In fact, people share meals…break bread and eat together quite often in the bible.

God fed five thousand people with two fishes and five loaves of bread (that he multiplied).

God did that. Not the federal government.
When God does help someone or gives a person something, it is out of the goodness of His heart. It is with love and with a charitable spirit, not because the government made Him do it.

Remember, God gave man free will. He didn’t have to. If he wanted everyone on this planet to worship him morning, noon and night, He could have done just that. But He gave us free will knowing that man is not perfect. We are going to make mistakes. But just like any good parent does with their children, you let them go…say out on their first date, even though you’re a little reluctant about it. Still, it’s time. So your child goes out the door. You pray. Hope…all will be well. But that child does have a mind of his own, and he (or she), will make decisions during that date you won’t know about. What you do know is you’ve given your child advice or instructions and the freedom to make the right choice. Now, what they do is anybody’s guess. You might not like it, but that’s all a part of life.

I believe we all have free will as granted by God. This is why I’m always saying, “If God can cut me a little slack, surely the federal government can give me options.” Do you know what I mean? Think ObamaCare.

Which brings me back to the war on Jesus Christ and the recent all out attacks on Christmas Trees, Nativity Scenes, Candy Canes and so much more. Look as far I am concerned, if Congress and the White House continue to create legislation that is intended to diminish the importance of religious freedom, they are in for a rude awakening. Christians will not allow God to be dissed regardless of who is President in 2012 and beyond. What all this anomosity has created is a Reason to Protect the Season of Christmas and preserve it for our children and grandchildren, who are being deprived of joy and happiness they should have. There used to be one Grinch at Christmas. Now there are thousands of them out to destroy the manger, nail Santa to a cross, silence carolers and fly anti-Jesus banners. The only difference is these grinches never repent. And many think they have won when the government makes decisions in their favor, but they’ve already lost the war because nobody erases God. So Christians during this season of all seasons, I ask you to do what you do best, pray for restoration of all that is in honor of Jesus Christ and give God glory in the highest.

Amen.
